Avati - Mario Avati, printmaker and book illustrator, was born in Monaco on May 27, 1921.
The artist studied at the École des Arts Decoratifs in Nice and the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
He created etchings and aquatints up until 1957 and then began to focus exclusively on mezzotints.
Avati was world renowned and regarded as a master of the medium.
