Istavan Ban - [1922 - 1984] An internationally respected wall tapestry artist, and author, he achieved significant national and international acknowledgement during his lifetime.

Ban created his own innovative mixed weaving techniques in order to meet the modern tastes of the mid 20th century. Various textures and yarns give the weaving a three dimensional quality. This piece clearly displays that mixed weave technique.
