Studied - The National Academy of Art in Vienna

Short History - In 1926 Bergmann traveled to the United States eventually settling in San Francisco. There he painted murals, and his biggest commission was a series of murals for the Golden Gate International Exposition in 1939.

Bergmann was among the most celebrated modernist figurative painters working in Northern California. Besides being a painter and a muralist, he also illustrated children’s books, including This Way to the Circus in 1938.

Later in his career he focused mainly creating enamels and crafting jewelry. Both fields at which he excelled.
